Creating a Custom Conversion
Creating a custom conversion allows you to track and label specific actions taken on specific products or webpages, that cannot be otherwise tracked using Facebook’s standard pre-set conversions, without adding a line of code.
e.g. Purchases of men’s watches over $50.
The two main reasons custom conversions are used are:
- Organizing and filtering data on your website to further understand your prospects’ behavior
- Optimizing for better results by laser targeting audiences who are most likely to convert on a custom conversion

After creating your custom conversion, you can use it to create new Prospecting, Retargeting, Retention, and Scaling campaigns that optimize for the actions you care about.
While creating your campaign, in the Ad Set tab, you’ll find the custom conversion you’ve just created in the Conversion Event drop-down.
Selecting the custom conversion will make your ad sets optimize for audiences who are more likely to perform the specific action your chose earlier on the product or landing pages you selected.
